Call to Action: HHS Seeks Public Comments on Vaccine Recommendations
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a Request for Information (RFI) on August 21 regarding federal vaccine recommendations, parental & religious rights, and the role of shared clinical decision-making.
Dr. Shira Miller, founder and president of Physicians for Informed Consent, said, “We encourage parents, physicians, scientists, and those affected by vaccine mandates to share their experiences and concerns with HHS.”
The public can submit comments addressing vaccine safety, the childhood vaccine schedule, medical and religious exemptions, and parental rights in vaccination decisions.

“First I completely support the executive order from August 10 addressing childhood vaccination in America.”
Then, pick one of the following topics to address, which have been covered by the executive order:
→ Individual autonomy, informed consent, parental rights and religious freedom
→ The availability, quality, and strength of evidence
→ How shared clinical decision-making is understood and applied in practice, and how the category could be improved
→ The appropriate approach when randomized controlled trial evidence is limited or absent
→ The legal and programmatic consequences of recommendation categories
→ Communication practices necessary to earn and maintain public trust
