Author of 16 books, Joel is editor of The Stockman Grass Farmer, the world's premier pastured livestock trade journal. He writes columns in Homestead Living, Plain Values, Homesteaders of America and Manward. His blog is Musing from the Lunatic Farmer and he does a weekly podcast with Dr. Sina McCullough, pegged as the scientist and the farmer.

The farm hosts about 15,000 people a year to various gatherings, informational seminars, and farm tours. A formal apprenticeship program launches young farmers into full-time farming. He speaks worldwide on farming and homesteading issues as well as broad cultural food freedom topics.
