The Dark Side of the Food Industry

The Dark Side of The Food Industry: Lessons From An Organic Chocolate CEO On How To Keep It Healthy
With Lisa Reinhardt, CEO of Wei of Chocolate
Learn about food manufacturing, ingredient integrity and how to read a food label, from organic chocolate CEO & Founder of Wei of Chocolate, Lisa Reinhardt.
Lisa Reinhardt took a circuitous route to becoming an organic chocolate company CEO. 30 years ago, she spent a decade traveling the Himalayas. She lived in monasteries, did a solo retreat in a cave, and studied with many of the greatest meditation masters of the 20th century who had escaped from Tibet and were living in exile. By immersing herself in that world, she saw firsthand the incredible impact it makes when people spend a lifetime committed to meditation.
The benefits are palpable. All the good qualities we aspire to are nourished and revealed by meditation ~ joy, compassion, clarity, fearlessness, strength.
She returned from Asia steeped in enthusiasm & commitment for this life-altering path … only to discover that it would take another 16 years before mindfulness became a thing.
In the meantime, she founded Wei of Chocolate to help people effortlessly experience meditation by letting dark chocolate melt in their mouths. It was key, however, that the chocolate be health-supporting rather than health-eroding, which plunged her into the world of food manufacturing and ingredient integrity. She learned firsthand how food made in a factory can be radically different from food made in a kitchen. In her talk, she’ll show us how to read between the lines of the ingredient label to discern what’s really going on, and make the best healthy choices for ourselves and our families.
Join us to experience the world of healthy dark chocolate, and learn how to avoid the dark side of the food industry.
Organic Chocolate & Free Samples will be available from Wei of Chocolate & there will be flower remedy samples as well.
