The FCC just issued new rules – effective March 29 – governing OTARDs (Over The Air Reception Devices) that allow wireless companies to contract with private property owners to install 5G transmitters in your neighborhood, with no local government permit, no neighborhood notification, no public hearing, no opportunity for you to oppose it. Companies are going door to door in Arizona right now, offering homeowners ultra-fast WiFi for home internet service in exchange for installing a small radiating 5G transmitter on their roof. These antennas emit pulsed microwave radiation proven to cause cancer, DNA damage, neurological dysfunction, sleep disorders, and heart disease – but don’t expect the salesmen to know anything about these ill effects! And if homeowners or their neighbors start to get sick and want to remove that antenna, the legally binding contract the property owner signed will prevent that from happening, or will levy hefty penalties.

What is going on?

The FCC has failed in its duty to protect the public, and these OTARD rules are the latest example of their willingness to promote wireless technologies with NO prior safety testing. Unfortunately, there is a revolving door between the FCC, lobbyists and telecom companies which is not in the public’s interest. Not surprisingly, the FCC is aligning with the industry’s untenable position that there is no credible evidence of biological harm below the safety threshold of its RF radiation guidelines. On the other hand, over 20,000 scientific papers published by impartial scientists have demonstrated over 4,000 adverse health effects at levels well below the threshold! This evidence is often suppressed, or is countered by industry-sponsored scientific studies that show no effect – similar to past efforts to hide the harm of asbestos and tobacco.

A better path forward

The far superior alternative is a fiber optic network. Visionary cities like Chattanooga have taken this option, which resulted in the best connectivity in the country and a $2.7 Billions boost to their economy with a network that lasts longer and is faster, safer and more secure. Arizona can do the same! Each City Council has the policing powers to turn down the power on existing cell towers and install superior state-of-the-art fiber.

What can you do?

PROTECT YOURSELF by sharing this information with your neighbors, have them sign the NO OTARD pledge, and JUST SAY NO to rooftop antennas. Then join or support a local group that is working on changing city and state laws:
